Facial Rejuvenation Plastic Surgery

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, can enhance the beauty of your eyes and improve self confidence, by removing the appearance of droopy or sagging eyelids. As people age, the eyelid stretches, muscles weaken and fat accumulates around the eyes, causing "bags" or excess skin to become prominent. Considering the time involving the surgery and relatively short post operative recovery, this gives one of the best rewards in cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Nosti will evaluate the anatomy and appearance of your eyelids and will give you his opinion on which of the procedures needs to be used and whether the upper and lower lids need to be treated.

Facial Rejuvenation by Face Lift (Rhytidectomy)

Face lift (rhytidectomy) is a surgical procedure designed to smooth the loose skin of the face and neck and reduce the most apparent signs of aging in the facial area, resulting in a fresher, more relaxed and youthful appearance.

The procedure involves reducing the creases from the cheeks, the slacking jaw line and sagging jowls and fat deposits around the neck by removing excess fat and tightening underlying muscles, then re-draping the skin of the face and neck. At times, a more limited procedure, involving the lower third of the face and neck will give you the desired results with a lesser procedure and greater benefit.

Dr. Nosti will evaluate the anatomy and the areas you desire corrected and will be able to give you his best opinion on which of the procedures is beneficial in your particular case.

Endoscopic Forehead / Brow Lift

A forehead lift or brow lift is designed to re-position sagging eyebrows that can cause a person to look tired, sad or angry. Endoscopic forehead lift or brow lift is the most common endoscopic procedure used by cosmetic surgeons. With this method, two or more small incisions are made at or behind the hairline and a small endoscope is used. The eyebrows are then re-positioned to a higher level, resulting in a more natural, relaxed appearance.

Skin Resurfacing

Skin resurfacing is a procedure that employs a carbon dioxide laser or erbium laser to remove areas of damaged or wrinkled skin. This is often used to minimize the appearance of wrinkles around the mouth and eyes, but it is also effective in treating age spots or areas of uneven pigmentation.

Good candidates for the procedure are people with wrinkles or sun-damaged facial skin, brown spots or blotchy skin coloring, fine wrinkles on the upper lids or crow's feet.

These treatments are often used in conjunction with other procedures such as face lift or eye lift surgery.

Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a procedure that is designed to pin back the ears closer to the head or reduce their size. This results in more natural looking ears. This procedure can be performed on the very young as well as older individuals. The otoplasty procedure varies with every patient and their degree of ear deformity. During the operation, an incision is made behind the ear to hide the marks of surgical intervention. Sutures are strategically placed to shape the cartilage in normal folds, which are missing pre-operatively. The skin is re-draped, any excess skin removed, and the incision behind the ear is closed. To reduce the swelling or collection of fluid beneath the skin, a dressing is placed on the head to put gentle pressure on the ears and maintain their position.

Rhinoplasty

Surgery on the nose is one of the most common of all plastic surgery procedures. There are patients who, for different reasons, are unhappy with some areas of their nasal anatomy as well as patients who have had an alteration to their nose as a result of injury. Rhinoplasty offers a solution to these individuals.

The best candidates for rhinoplasty are people who are looking for an improvement in the way they look and not searching for perfection. This surgery can reduce or increase the overall size of one's nose, change the shape of the tip or bridge, narrow or widen the nostrils. The best candidates are ones who wish to have a limited change, have a good structural support and skin that will drape well over the changed, supporting frame.

This surgery is done as an outpatient, under general anesthesia.

Collagen and Fat Injections

Collagen and fat injections can help restore youthfulness to one's appearance without the incisions and the downtime. This procedure is especially helpful in adding fullness to the lips and cheeks. When injected, the filler plumps up the creased and sunken areas of the face.

Chemical Peel / Dermabrasion

Chemical peel/dermabrasions are procedures that will abrade or eliminate the superficial layers of skin and thus, will produce a regeneration of dermico-efder and corneal layer that will make the skin plumper and less wrinkled. This will also help with dyschromias and little changes in the pigmentation of the skin. This is done as an outpatient procedure. It will take two to three weeks, depending on the depth of the peel and the desired results, to complete the healing process.

Dr. Nosti will evaluate your situation and recommend what he thinks is the best option for you.

Botox Injections

Botox is a form of botulism toxin that, when injected, temporarily paralyzes the muscles that cause wrinkles. This treatment reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases and crow's feet near the eyes. Botox injections take only a few minutes to an hour to be performed, depending on the size of the treatment area. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities immediately after treatment. Generally, the effects of Botox injections should last three to six months and further treatment may be advised.
